I met this young lady a month ago when she came up to the office to promote her new line of shea butter. At first, I wasn’t sure if she was just a daughter who tagged along with her mom or what but it turned out she was here for an interview about her product.
Needless to say I was blown away. For one, she was super young, just 11-year-old and two, already has the mindset of a businesswoman. I’ve been so impressed by the way she’s been working hard to grow her business that I had to make her our Lady Of The Day…or in this case young Lady of The Day.
Tatiana gave me a sample of her shea butter along with a flyer describing the reason behind the creation of her company as well as some facts about the cream. On the card, she wrote that she is the creator and CEO (snap, snap) of Sheascents LLC, and started up her own line because she has eczema (a skin disease). She went on to say that her skin would hurt pretty bad and the only thing that would help her is shea butter so she decided to make her own. Yes, she’s just 11 years young, let’s clap for this young lady.
You can follow Tatiana on Twitter and Instagram “@SheascentsLLC” or on Facebook.com/SheaScentsLLC. She also has been nominated by Black Enterprise for the “Teenpreneur Of The Year Award” and currently has a gofundme account running that would pay her way to Atlanta where the award ceremony is held. You can donate here if you’d like to help Tatiana get there!
At an age where kids only care about playing outside or going to their friends house, Tatiana is here trying to build a business. This is inspiring!
